Systeme.io Review: Plans, Limits, Pros, and Cons

October 21, 2026

Online Business · Review

Systeme.io puts funnels, email, courses, and an affiliate program in one tool, with a free plan that does not expire. Here is what you get, where the limits bite, and who it is right for.

If you are starting an online business on a tight budget, systeme.io comes up a lot. The pitch is simple: one tool for pages, email, courses, and payments, with a free plan to start.

I want to be clear up front. I have not run my own business on systeme.io. This review is based on its pricing page, plan limits, and FAQ, all checked on October 21, 2026. I will tell you what the numbers say, where I think it shines, and where it falls short.

Quick answer

Systeme.io is an all-in-one tool for funnels, email marketing, websites, online courses, communities, and running your own affiliate program. It has a free plan with up to 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, and 1 automation rule that never expires and needs no credit card. Paid plans are Startup at $17 a month, Webinar at $47, and Unlimited at $97. Every plan lists unlimited email sends and 0% transaction fees. It is a strong pick for beginners on a budget, but the free plan's limits are tight. Checked October 21, 2026.

What is systeme.io?

Systeme.io is an all-in-one platform for online businesses. Its site lists sales funnels, email marketing, a website builder, affiliate management, marketing automation, an online course builder, a community builder, a booking calendar, sub-accounts, physical products, SMS marketing, and pipelines.

In plain words, it tries to replace the stack of tools most people glue together: a page builder, an email tool, a course platform, and an affiliate tool.

There is also a custom plan for teams with a dedicated success manager. The page has an annual billing option too. The yearly prices did not show in my capture, so check the toggle on the live page.

The free plan, in detail

The free plan is the main reason people try systeme.io. The FAQ says it supports up to 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 blog, 1 course, 1 affiliate program, and 1 custom domain. Emails sent are unlimited.

It also says the free plan never expires and does not need a credit card. That is rare. Most tools give you a 14 or 30 day trial and then ask you to pay.

But the limits are real. The FAQ lists 1 automation rule, 1 email campaign, and 500 students on the free plan. One automation rule is enough to test, not to run a business.

What every plan includes

The FAQ says all plans include the same core tools. Some things are the same on every plan:

  • Unlimited email sends. You are limited by contacts, not by how many emails you send.
  • 0% transaction fees. Systeme.io does not take a cut of your sales.
  • Unlimited sub-accounts. Handy if you help other people with their business.
  • Unlimited file storage. For files you add to your pages.

It connects to payment tools like Stripe, PayPal, and Apple Pay, plus a few others listed on the pricing page. Your payment company still charges its own fees.

Systeme.io compare table: contacts of 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, and unlimited, plus tags, pipelines, and email limits by plan

Limits by plan that matter most

The compare table on the pricing page goes deep. Here are the rows I would look at first:

  • Courses: 1, 5, 20, or unlimited.
  • Communities: 1, 5, 20, or unlimited. Members are unlimited on every plan.
  • Websites: 1, 5, 20, or unlimited.
  • Tags: 1, 10, 100, or unlimited.
  • Evergreen webinars: none on Free or Startup, 10 on Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited.
  • API requests per minute: 30, 60, 120, or unlimited.

Tags are the sneaky one. With only 1 tag on the free plan, it is hard to sort your contacts in a useful way.

Sales tools inside the funnels

A funnel is more than pages. It is how you make more from each buyer. The compare table shows these limits for Free, Startup, Webinar, and Unlimited:

  • Funnel steps: 15, 50, 300, or unlimited.
  • 1-click upsells: 1, 10, 100, or unlimited. An upsell is an extra offer right after someone buys.
  • Order bumps: 1, 10, 100, or unlimited. A bump is a small add-on at checkout.
  • A/B tests: 1, 10, 50, or unlimited. A test shows two versions of a page to see which works better.
  • Coupon codes: 1, 10, 50, or unlimited.

For a first product, the free plan's single upsell and single bump are enough to learn how they work.

Which plan should you pick?

The FAQ gives a simple rule based on contacts. Under 2,000 contacts, use the free plan. From 2,000 to 5,000, use Startup at $17 a month. From 5,000 to 10,000, use Webinar at $47 a month, which also adds evergreen webinars. Over 10,000, use Unlimited at $97 a month.

I would add one more check. Look at automation rules and tags, not just contacts. Those are the limits most people hit first on the free plan.

Pros and cons

Illustration: my take on systeme.io, based on its pricing page

What I like:

  • A free plan that does not expire and needs no card.
  • Funnels, email, courses, communities, and affiliates in one place.
  • No transaction fees on any plan.
  • Prices based mostly on contacts, which is easy to plan around.

What to watch:

  • The free plan's limits, like 1 automation rule and 1 tag, are tight.
  • The jump from Webinar at $47 to Unlimited at $97 comes once you pass 10,000 contacts.
  • All-in-one tools do many jobs, so each single feature may be simpler than a tool built only for that job.
  • You still set up and pay for your own payment processor.

Support

The pricing page lists 24/7 email support. It also says the support team has an average response time of under 2 hours, 7 days a week. The compare table also lists a 1-on-1 kickstart coaching session and free migration. Which plans get them is shown with icons, so check the live table.

Changing or canceling your plan

The FAQ says you can upgrade or cancel at any time from your account settings. If you cancel, you keep your plan until your next billing date. Then your account goes back to the free plan.

To downgrade, the FAQ gives two options. You can ask support to turn the days left on your plan into time on the lower plan. Or you can cancel, wait until you drop to free, then pick the plan you want.

That is a nice safety net. You do not lose everything the moment you stop paying. You just drop back to free plan limits.

Who systeme.io is right for

A good fit if you:

  • Are just starting and want to spend little or nothing.
  • Sell a course, a digital product, or a membership.
  • Want to run your own affiliate program without a separate tool.
  • Have fewer than 10,000 contacts.

Look elsewhere if you:

  • Need a full CRM for a local service business, with texting and phone tools at the center.
  • Run an agency and want deep client management.
  • Already use a tool that does all this and works fine.

For those cases, compare it with the options in my GoHighLevel alternatives guide or my roundup of the best sales funnel software.

How to test systeme.io this week

  1. Sign up for the free plan. No card needed.
  2. Build one simple funnel: a page that gives away a free guide in exchange for an email.
  3. Set up your one automation rule to send that guide.
  4. Send a test signup through it yourself.
  5. If it works and you need more, move to Startup at $17.
