Build with AI · Pricing guide
Base44 has five plans and two kinds of credits. Here is what each plan costs, what the credits really pay for, and how to avoid paying for more than you need.
Base44 is an AI app builder. You describe the app you want, and it builds the front end, the database, and the logins for you. Wix bought Base44 in June 2025, and it still runs as its own product.
The price looks simple at first. Then you see two kinds of credits and five plans. In this guide, I break it all down in plain words. Every number comes from Base44's own pricing page and docs, checked October 20, 2026.
Quick answer
Base44 has a Free plan and four paid plans. On monthly billing, Starter is $20 a month, Builder is $50, Pro is $100, and Elite is $200. Yearly billing saves 20%, so the same plans are $16, $40, $80, and $160 a month. Each plan gives you message credits for building with the AI and integration credits for things your app does, like sending email. Most beginners should start on Free, then move to Starter once they run out of credits.
Base44 plans and prices
Here is every plan on base44.com/pricing, checked October 20, 2026. Base44 says yearly billing gives "a 20% discount" on every paid plan.

- Free ($0): 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month. Up to 5 apps. Base44 says you get "Authentication, database functionality, analytics."
- Starter ($20 monthly, or $16 a month yearly): 100 message credits and 2,000 integration credits a month. Unlimited apps, in-app code edits, a custom domain, and a free domain for 1 year.
- Builder ($50 monthly, or $40 a month yearly): 250 message credits and 10,000 integration credits. Adds AI model select and GitHub integration.
- Pro ($100 monthly, or $80 a month yearly): 500 message credits and 20,000 integration credits. Adds early access to beta features.
- Elite ($200 monthly, or $160 a month yearly): 1,200 message credits and 50,000 integration credits. Adds premium support.

There is also an Enterprise plan with custom pricing. You talk to sales for that one.
How Base44 credits work
This is the part most people miss. Base44 uses two kinds of credits, and they pay for different things.
Message credits: for building
Message credits are used when you chat with the AI to build or fix your app. Base44's docs list examples, like asking the AI to add a small feature or fix a bug.
There is no set price per message. Base44 says "Credits are based on how much work the system has to do, not on how small the change looks." Here are the rough ranges from its docs:

- A simple text or color change: about 0.5 credits
- Improving a small feature: about 1 credit
- Adding a complex module: about 2 credits
- A large, app-wide change: about 3 to 4 credits
So on the Free plan, 25 message credits could mean anywhere from about 6 big changes to about 50 small ones. Base44 calls these ranges "rough ranges, not a quote."
Integration credits: for what your app does
Integration credits are used when your app uses Base44's built-in services. The docs give examples like sending an email, making an image, or running an AI call inside your app.
Two good things to know from the docs:
- Integration credits "are not used when you call an external service with your own API key."
- Manual edits are free. Base44 says dragging elements, changing layouts, or editing text directly "do not use credits."
What integration credits look like in real life
Base44's docs give rough costs for its built-in services. Sending an email from your app is about 1 credit per email. Sending from your own domain is about 2 credits per email. A push notification is about 1 credit each.
So on Starter, 2,000 integration credits could cover roughly 2,000 plain emails in a month, if email were the only thing your app did. Real apps mix many actions, so check your usage page after your first busy week.
Is Base44 free?
Yes, there is a real free plan. It includes 25 message credits a month, 100 integration credits a month, and up to 5 apps.
There is a daily cap, too. The docs say on Free "You can use up to 5 credits a day, up to 25 credits a month." When you hit the daily cap, building pauses until the next day, as long as you still have monthly credits left.
Base44 says you can "ship complete apps" on Free. For a small test app, that is fair. For anything bigger, you will feel the 5 credits a day limit fast.
When credits reset and what happens when you run out
- Paid plans: credits reset once a month, on the same day you subscribed.
- Unused credits: the docs say credits you have not used "expire when they reset." They do not pile up.
- Running out: actions that use credits pause until your next reset. Or you can upgrade.
- Upgrading mid-month: you get the new plan's extra credits right away. On a monthly to monthly upgrade, unused credits carry over for one more cycle, up to one month of your plan's credits.
Are there hidden costs?
Base44's FAQ says "No hidden fees." But it also says outside services you connect, like Stripe or OpenAI, "bill you directly on their own pricing."
So your real cost can include:
- Your Base44 plan
- Payment fees if you take payments with Stripe
- Any AI service you connect with your own key
- A domain name after the free first year

Discounts and ways to pay
- Yearly billing: 20% off every paid plan, charged once a year.
- Students and nonprofits: Base44 says it offers education and nonprofit pricing "on a case-by-case basis." Sign up with your school email or contact support.
- Payment: major credit and debit cards. Enterprise customers can pay by invoice or ACH.
- Canceling: you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle, and Base44 says "Your apps stay live, your data stays in your workspace."
Which Base44 plan should you pick?

My own guide, based on the features listed on base44.com/pricing, checked October 20, 2026.
How to stretch your credits
- Plan before you prompt. Write down the pages and features first.
- Make small, clear requests. One change per message.
- Do simple edits by hand. Text and layout edits in the editor are free.
- Use your own API key for AI features if you plan to run a lot of them, so they do not eat integration credits.
- Check your usage each week in your workspace settings.
