Midjourney Pricing: Every Plan Explained in Plain English

October 23, 2026

AI Tools · Pricing

Midjourney has four paid plans. The big difference is how much fast GPU time you get and whether you get unlimited Relax mode. Here is every plan as of October 23, 2026.

Midjourney makes images and short videos from text prompts. It is a subscription, so you pay monthly or yearly.

The prices are simple. What confuses people is GPU time, Relax mode, and Stealth mode. I checked Midjourney's official plan comparison page on October 23, 2026, and I will explain each part in plain words.

Quick answer

On October 23, 2026, Midjourney had four plans: Basic at $10 a month, Standard at $30, Pro at $60, and Mega at $120. Paying yearly gave a 20% discount, so they worked out to $8, $24, $48, and $96 a month. Standard and up got unlimited image making in Relax mode. Pro and Mega added unlimited SD video in Relax mode and Stealth mode.

Midjourney plans at a glance

Here is what Midjourney's plan comparison page showed on October 23, 2026.

  • Basic: $10 a month, or $96 a year ($8 a month). 3.3 hours of fast GPU time a month (200 minutes).
  • Standard: $30 a month, or $288 a year ($24 a month). 15 hours of fast GPU time a month, plus unlimited images in Relax mode.
  • Pro: $60 a month, or $576 a year ($48 a month). 30 hours of fast GPU time, unlimited images and SD video in Relax mode, and Stealth mode.
  • Mega: $120 a month, or $1,152 a year ($96 a month). 60 hours of fast GPU time, plus everything in Pro.

All plans are subscriptions. Midjourney says they renew each month or year unless you set your plan to cancel.

What can you make with Midjourney?

Midjourney turns a written prompt into images. It can also turn images into short videos. You can work on its website, and every plan also lets you work solo in Discord direct messages.

Its docs cover more than plain prompts. There are guides for using your own images, style references, Omni Reference, the Editor, and changing aspect ratio and image size. You do not need these on day one. But they show the tool can grow with you.

What GPU time means

Midjourney runs your prompts on powerful computers called GPUs. Your plan gives you a set amount of fast time each month.

  • Fast mode uses your monthly GPU hours. Results come back quickly.
  • Relax mode is slower, but on Standard and up it does not use up your hours for images. That is how you get unlimited images.
  • Extra fast time cost $4 an hour on every plan.

So if you make a lot of images, the jump from Basic to Standard matters most. Basic has no unlimited Relax mode, so once your fast hours run out, you need to buy more.

Midjourney video and plan limits

Midjourney can also make short videos. Here is how the plans differ:

  • Basic makes SD video only.
  • Standard, Pro, and Mega can make SD and HD video.
  • Unlimited video in Relax mode is only on Pro and Mega, and it is SD video.

The page also lists how many jobs you can run at once. Basic allowed 3 fast image prompts at a time. Pro and Mega allowed up to 12 fast image prompts.

Job limits by plan

Each plan also limits how many jobs can run at once. This matters if you make a lot of images in a hurry.

  • Image jobs at once: Basic 3 Fast. Standard 3 Fast or Relax. Pro and Mega 12 Fast or 3 Relax.
  • Video jobs at once: Basic 1 Fast. Standard 3 Fast. Pro 6 Fast or 3 Relax. Mega 12 Fast or 3 Relax.
  • Repeat or permutation size: Basic 4 jobs. Standard 10 jobs. Pro and Mega 40 jobs.
  • Queued jobs: 10 on every plan.

If you are just starting, these limits may not matter. They matter more for people making big batches for clients.

What is Stealth mode?

By default, what you make on Midjourney can be seen by others. Stealth mode keeps your images and videos private. Midjourney says it is only on the Pro and Mega plans.

If you make images for clients or for products that are not public yet, this is a real reason to pick Pro.

Commercial use and the business rule

Every plan comes with Midjourney's general commercial terms. Midjourney says that if you have subscribed at any point, you can use your images and videos in just about any way you want.

There is one big rule. If your company brings in more than one million US dollars in gross revenue a year, Midjourney says you must buy the Pro or Mega plan. Read the Terms of Service for the full details.

Basic vs Standard: the choice that matters most

The main choice for a new user is Basic or Standard. Here is the simple way to decide.

Basic gives you about 200 minutes of fast time a month. When that runs out, you either wait for next month or buy more time. There is no unlimited Relax mode on Basic.

Standard costs $20 more a month. For that, you get 15 fast hours and unlimited images in Relax mode. So you never hit a wall on images. You just wait a bit longer for each one.

If you make images a few times a month, Basic is fine. If you make images most weeks, Standard will likely save you stress and extra time purchases.

Monthly vs yearly

Midjourney gives a 20% discount if you pay for a full year up front.

Illustration: Midjourney monthly vs yearly, from its docs
  • Basic: $120 a year paying monthly, or $96 paying yearly.
  • Standard: $360 a year paying monthly, or $288 paying yearly.
  • Pro: $720 a year paying monthly, or $576 paying yearly.
  • Mega: $1,440 a year paying monthly, or $1,152 paying yearly.

Pay monthly first. Switch to yearly once you know you will use it all year.

How to make your fast hours last

Fast hours are the part you can run out of. Here is how to stretch them:

  1. Use Relax mode when you are not in a rush. On Standard and up, Relax images do not use your fast hours.
  2. Test prompts small first. Get the idea right before you make lots of versions.
  3. Save prompts that work. Reuse them instead of starting over each time.
  4. Buy extra time only when you need it. Extra fast time cost $4 an hour on every plan.

How to stop paying

Midjourney plans renew on their own each month or year. The docs say they keep renewing unless you set your plan to cancel. So if you only need it for one project, set a reminder to cancel when the project is done.

Which Midjourney plan should you pick?

  • Trying it out: Basic. It is the cheapest way in, but you can run out of fast hours.
  • Making images most weeks: Standard. Unlimited Relax images is a good fit if you make images often.
  • Client work or private projects: Pro, for Stealth mode and unlimited Relax SD video.
  • Heavy daily use or a team workflow: Mega, for 60 fast hours a month.
  • A company over the revenue limit: Pro or Mega is required.

Is Midjourney worth it for you?

Ask yourself three questions before you pay:

  • How often will I use it? If it is once a month, start on Basic and cancel when you are done.
  • Do I need privacy? If you make images for clients or new products, Pro gives you Stealth mode.
  • Is my company over the revenue limit? If yes, you need Pro or Mega.

Then run a simple test. Make ten images you would really use, like thumbnails or post graphics. If they save you time or money compared to how you make images now, it is worth it.
